i’m a citizen of planet earth in the 21st century who happens to be on the north american continent, currently governed by the united states of america whose voting system for leaders are split into two major parties, a number of minor parties and the largest party is the No Party Affiliation / Independent which includes the non-voting block.
I registered to vote at the age of 18 years old in 1990. I did not declare a party.
Marked as: Independent / No Party Affiliation for
1992 where I voted for H. Ross Perot. Same for 1996. H. Ross Perot. I think I forgot to vote in 2000. In 2004 I voted for George W Bush’s cabinet, which he then fired three weeks later, a voting experiment I will never repeat. 2008, I voted for Obama. In 2012, I voted for Obama. In 2016, I voted for Hillary Clinton.
All the time I remained Independent / No Party Affiliation.
In 2018, I decided to choose something for fun. After careful research, I changed to Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida which shows up as Democrat so that I could vote in the 2018 Election Primaries.
Now it’s 2021. For now, I’m staying as Democrat because of this ridiculous new lingo “red state” and “blue state” which used to ONLY apply during elections.
But now campaigning is daily, particularly in Florida and for some reason, politics just won’t go away yet.
But primarily, I am a citizen of the planet earth in the 21st century. All this other stuff is gossip before we die.
I would like a ranked choice voting system at all levels of government where we could vote for multiple people in a ranking of first, second, third – and possibly a OH GOD NO NEVER! rank.
Tabulate that. I think it’ll be far more accurate to what people want to see.
