I’ll give an example: Video editing. Did you know that most video editors (as far as I know) simply create batch files and run FFMPEG in the background? and they create bloat with their UIs and progress bars and things. So I’d rather do that stuff myself, using less memory, having more control over exactly what it’s doing, etc.
