I’ll believe that I’m correcting your errors and you’ll believe you’re correcting mine and we don’t get anywhere and we’ll talk past each other mostly fueled by our respective information sources.

I’ve been following issues in education since I was a teenager as I was going to be a school teacher – never did it – but it was to be special education, middle school – gifted kids. I have had strong ideas about education since reading books on alternative education from experimental democratic schools in England and the USA, etc.
I’ve been following the trends – lately the trend of “grit” which has taken hold among schoolteachers over the last 10 years, and the voucher systems, etc.
It’s something I’ve always had passionate opinions about. Unschooling, homeschooling, public and private schooling, all the issues that come up with it.
Is standardized testing an equalizer or detrimental? etc.
and when I was reading some of the comments by some of the people tasked with reviewing Florida’s math books – some of them were like, “we don’t even know what we’re supposed to be looking for here”, – it’s all rushed and half-baked and based upon vapors.
Thankfully, it’s no longer down to a SINGLE math textbook that happened to be published by the company the new republican governor of Virginian or whatever worked for up ’til two years ago for 25 years. Just coincidences. No money changing hands here.
Is what it is. Politics. I can’t do anything about it. I hope everything you said is correct and that I’m wrong. I don’t want to be right on this stuff.

I’m not going to argue. I’ll just be repeating points found on memes easily and we’ll go back and forth with memetic ideas.

Here it is; the test that confirmed what I knew; best career for my personality years ago. Special Education, Middle School. Long test – MAPP – very accurate.
Oh well. I hope you’re right. School systems in America just keeps going around the same damn circles repeatedly between politicians, businesses, churches, etc. It’s nowhere near where it needs to be. Never will be. Hope you’re right and that these changes bring everything they should bring, whatever that is.
