I can’t think of good quotable things right now. [short phrases and stuff]. But I’ll try to say something. Let’s see… a) The way we fight is wrong. By bombing from the sky, we don’t have to see the damage we cause. Civilians become “collatoral damage” but collatoral damage should not “be a thing”. Push-button, computer guided warfare where old men sit in far off places pushing buttons like a poorly constructed video game is a horrible way to wage war. You keep the blood off your hands and fool yourselves into believing that as long as you get *some* of the bad guys, the other deaths can be justified. They cannot. b) If you’re going to inflict this kind of damage of people, you need to live it. Breathe it. Get the blood on your face and hands. Better still. Don’t. Just stop. If you’re not willing to go in yourself and face the damage you’re causing, the lives you’re destroying, you’re no hero. You’re a coward.
My anger is less to the politicians but rather to the generals and higher ups. The officers in the military. To me, the politicians are just faces-for-TV. They get documents shoved on their desk and they sign them or not. It’s the generals and officers that wage the wars and convince the politicians to keep funding them.
