If you can tolerate a very badly recorded video, one of the best presenters of systems thinking (he was part of the movement from the beginning) was Russel Ackoff.
You can skip around ’til he talks about the car engine. One of the best parts. and towards the end when he talks about The problem with University Thinking.
Systems thinking may not be the “be all” of everything, but having an attitude of systems thinking REALLY helps in divorcing yourself from passionate attachment to particular processes because you no longer see them by their categories but you see them as systems as part of a greater whole. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqEeIG8aPPk
Oh, I bring up systems thinking because I see humanity and all of its efforts as systems influencing each other, which includes mathematics, sciences, philosophy, education, technology, the internet, religion, daily life, etc. Marvelous mental imagry in my head.. I wish I could draw.
