Idiot plotter of evil isn’t necessarily wrong. Keith was talking about something different: that a) people exaggerated how evil he is but by contrast b) he is smart and also a retard. Idiot plotter of evil though works because it doesn’t require smarts to be an idiot plotter. But I don’t think he’s an idiot, just incompetent in this position. 3.5 years and he’s remained precisely the same as he was 25 years ago. “Wait and see” = more of what you see.

but by contrast
b) he is smart and also a retard.

Idiot plotter of evil though works because it doesn’t require smarts to be an idiot plotter.

I’ll give analogy: the physicist in the wheelchair that died a few years ago. Hawking.

He was great with the black hole stuff. He was a great popularizer of many science things – a public figure of “science”.

But … late in life, he decided to be a public atheist.

Now, that’s fine. He and his friend put together a fascinating notion of a Universe that creates its own time in a big circle, requiring no causation and therefore that is why there is no god, etc.

But the thing is: the view of God he presented was a cardboard God and hardly resembles any God that I know of any believer actually believing in.

So, as a way to coax people to stop believing in God? It fell short. Very short. It was just a pat on the back to his New Atheist friends.

So, here’s the analogy:

Trump, trying to score a cheap real estate deal? Great man for the job. Current role? Meh. It’s Hawking with the Atheist thing.

I’m talking about incompetent.

Are you familiar with the Peter principle?

It was invented by a guy named Laurence J. Peter, although he could have a brother named Peter Peter. Who knows.

Right wing press does similar things on their end. Look at the term “RINO”. Republican In Name Only. You won’t see RINO or DINO in standard news programs — it’s part of the weird world of right-wing news with lots of nicknames and acronyms and such.

But, it serves the same purpose of shifting public opinion.
