Always been fascinated by language changes. I look for them today while they’re happening. Meanings and usages change continually. Spellings change (even though standards exist, just hanging around some internet natives for a little while and picking up their ways, you really get a ‘feel’ for what happens when novel communication methods modify the very way we spell words and utilize language.

Just as the printing press sharply modified language then, so text messaging, chat rooms in games, short comment spaces / twitter – they’re all changing language right now. Fascinating stuff, it is.
