New laws that are based on Gossip.
Examples include : new laws against voter fraud that never happened but cut into legitimate pricesses, new laws against “critical race Theory” which was never taught and against teaching trans and gay to kids, both of which never happened, the new laws allow parents to sue they even *think* something of the sort might have taken place, which will encourage the schools to take excess precautions to eliminate every possibility.
These are three examples of gossip turn into laws that are being used for far more nefarious purposes
