I was born extremely preterm – 6.5 months – way back in 1972. It was pre-abortion rights. I think if the State wants to extract what’s in the womb to create a new citizen or churchgoing member, they can. We’re all beholden to the governments we serve under, including the wombs of the pregnant. But I’d rather the pregnant had autonomy; I would not have a hard set date. But if the State wants the contents of the womb for a new citizen, they can extract. It’s in their rights over all our bodies ultimately. Had I been aborted, I wouldn’t have known any difference. Same if I was a miscarriage. Or not ever conceived.
