I was an 8-bit kid, 80s new wave was everywhere. Never did the clubs or scenes as they were late 80s and beyond.. Just a kid/teen/adult at a computer online causing mischief.

Some friends were club kids that would grab interesting drugs from NYC and bring back to NJ – but I stayed suburban.

stayed far away from that. Closest I came was an anarchist but slightly faschy punk friend who ended up becoming a DJ (now back in Poland) and has left all that past behind him, has a family and his politics are liberal now. But in his teens + 20s he was a follower and a mess.

He hates the growing nationalism in Poland and being an older electronic DJ, he’s got to be extra careful what he stirs up in his audience.

Pretty much. He shed his share of blood and had his share of broken body parts but overall he was a suburbanite and didn’t know it.

I saw him as “good kid, misguided”.. He eventually found himself though.

I know Raf when he was like 13-20 something. Didn’t know any English, we helped him along. He did the shaved head, spikes, almost did implants for horns (one kid did) – all that stuff. 90s NJ suburban shit. They all turned out fine but some had long roads to get there.
Suburban white kid rebels. One kid walked onto a highway while tripping and got himself squished. “EnerJon” – never knew his name. Weird group but fun. I was older “old enough to know better” but bored.
I’m sure they all had their scenes, I just never got that deep into the specifics. I was that one-guy who had a job, could get beer and had a car. Every group has one of those and whelp, that was me.

My duty (once I found myself wrapped in in their mess) was to keep them from getting dead. Didn’t know EnerJon that well, couldn’t have helped him anyway. They’ve all thanked me so it was worth the crimingwhilewhite suburban trouble.
