I was a Boy Scout so I understand the sense of duty thing that children get but this kid was a wannabe cop. And wannabe cops are always bad news. They want action. They want to find or make trouble because they want to stop it themselves because THEY need to enact JUSTICE. and the problem with that is: they will create trouble to try and “fix it” and without anything but their own imagination to guide them, it can get bad quickly and people can die. What’s vigilantism? There ya go.

Now that he was surrounded by grownups telling him what a good boy he was and he went through fixed trial with a kooky judge that kept referring to him as a “baby boy”., well, yeah, the whole big stamp of approval was put on vigilantism.
His head is filled with it for sure. “getting rid of the bad guys” AND every two-bit wannabe Rittenhouse, who himself was a wannabe cop, is going to feel safe to do whatever they feel like and not worry about consequences, so long as they have a good story
