I trained my default response in that situation to fit the constraints of time and pressure

Thanks. It has a strange source. Menus in restaurants.
I could never decide. Analytical, know-too-much, figuring out what I remember of calories, fat, protein, carbs. Then there is cost, competence of the cook…
..and this is at a McDonald’s ordering fast food.

One day my mother says, “Oh, just have a default order.”

I’m like, “What? A default order?”

“Yeah. If you’re in a rush, have something you can pick everytime that’s close enough.”

So, I did. Now, I can think if I want to, or I can simply respond. I trained my default response in that situation to fit the constraints of time and pressure
