I thought it was a good message, either by itself or ironically. I’ve been that kid just as it shows, although getting hit on by grown men or women didn’t phase me although it was sometimes a bit awkward. Being cornered in a big room with nobody else around having to make small talk with an adult at 11 was probably my toughest few minutes.
But, I was lucky too as I didn’t HAVE to ‘stick around’ in these kinds of situations. My “toughest case”, I told a youth leader (church thing). He couldn’t look me in the eyes as I told him and felt unheard, but after that the guy was always “watched from afar” by other adults in the church, so I figured out they took action.
I couldn’t imagine NOT having some recourse out of that or other situations. That’s gotta suck..
