My hardest thing to tackle was engines. I don’t drive much and was always mystified by car engines.
So, at 40, I tackled that demon. Somehow I acquired a van with mysterious illness. I thought, “I CAN DO ANYTHING!”
and so I plunged in, learned all about engines, the complicated interplay of coolant, lubrication and all that, and gained a HUGE respect for gear-heads. I already had respect for them because what they did was mysterious to me, but through the experience, it confirmed it 1000%.

I fixed the mystery problem enough to sell the piece of junk for $800. Never again though, but at least I did it once.
