I think that the big services had been VERY VERY lax at not guarding against the extreme content.
Roblox and Youtube were actually two of the worst offenders, honestly because they each had a presumption of “We’re paying attention” attached to them but they allowed many awful things to happen within for a very long time.
I give credit to Discord; they’re the main hangout for GenZ now and while they allow a lot of god-forsaken stuff to get passed around in there; much of the worst of it is autodeleted so even they’re trying harder than Youtube and Roblox did.

I’d say the gen after Z – they calling it Alpha? I dunno – the ones with tablets in their hands from the age of 2 – their hangouts are more Tiktok and Snapchat I think.
