I think she’s a strong example of white privilege in action. She’s probably completely unaware of it and no amount of pointing it out will let her be able to see it. I think for her, there’s just “normal” vs everything else.

Her interview with Trevor Noah was telling: When she says, “I don’t see color”, I suspect she really believes she doesn’t – and she probably doesn’t _consciously_ do so. She probably sees things in terms of “law and order” and that there are no real racial issues, just class issues.

In the US, white Americans are taught to ignore race. If we don’t talk about it, it ceases to be a problem.

So right there, one leg of the white privilege table is gone for most white people automatically thanks to our “don’t be racist” training.
