Dear Teacher,
I think reading tests are kind of unfair. They make you pick one answer when there could be lots of different ways to understand a story or a book. I know I’ve had trouble with tests like that before, and it makes me feel like I’m not a good reader even though I love reading.
I think there should be other ways to understand books and stories. Like, maybe we could talk about how we feel when we read something, or what we think the characters are like, or what we know about the author and their life. That way, everyone can have their own ideas and share them with each other. It would be more fun and we could learn more too.
So, can we try some different ways of reading and understanding stories? I think it would help everyone feel better about reading and learning.
Thanks for listening, [Student’s Name]
