Predictably though, some people who are putting out negativity want you to share in their negativity, so they will call it arrogant, to make you feel negative either about yourself or about them (more likely), bringing you out of your cloud.

Indeed. I feel bad for them, but I don’t want to join them in their feelings. That’s a case where I will sympathize but I have to protect my empathy from going in to deeply.

It’s the bitterness. I have a lot of shielding against it . It’s a trap that’s very easy to fall into and once it grabs hold, it doesn’t let go.
