I think I was overthinking it again. Been messing with CA on and off for a long time but then seeing it again I got all mystified again. Time, a foreground and background, and rules to apply. It’s a POSET, so there’s infimum and supremum… and i only know any of that because I got obsessed with mathematical morphology a year or two ago for a few months and FINALLY understood at least that aspect of math.

now have minimal rules that can create a grid, create the notion of vectors, create the notion of linear and then of non linear and have them tussle until they’re stable enough to be considered rules…
