I tend towards a compromise/middle ground though. I too have struggled with situations that don’t have true opposites but only appear to. Getting through the apparition to see the fallacy isn’t always easy though. A lot of endless battles between “supposed opposites” aren’t opposites at all. American politics: Republican vs Democrat. Polar opposites? A scale? No. They’re not opposites. But behaving “as if” they are opposite is a never ending source of battles.
