I stretch my boundaries comfortably but I bring myself to the point of discomfort, yet I like being in control of the steps I take.

I stretch my boundaries comfortably but I bring myself to the point of discomfort, yet I like being in control of the steps I take.

In short, my ‘stretch’, as awkward and miserable as it may be at the time, is best when it’s my own choice.. or at least my own responsibility.

But, my surroundings often don’t give me the affordances to take the steps myself… or the ground that I expect to be there when I take my next step suddenly disappears just as I put my foot down on it.
Such is how things seem to be.

So, push myself where I can, and try to avoid “being pushed”, unless I can see an opportunity, then I allow it.

When it’s entirely out of my hands, then I get anxious, which is a sensation I don’t care for. Then I’m in “coping” mode until I can find the opportunity for growth within the circumstance I find myself within.
