I stopped watching physics/science shows around the time that Hawking did a special on “why God need not exist”. It was painfully ridiculous. Set up a strawman God and then take it down. It was PT Barnum showmanship and worthy of as much credit. The cycling universe thing is ok to ponder but making it deliberately “click bait” was a turn off. I also had grown a bit tired of sloppy history telling by Tyson and Kaku’s pie-eyed talk with mid 1990s awe about string theory that’s a bit out of place in the 2010s. I don’t fault their mission of science popularizers. By all means — I love science and encourage people. But it’s the method that got to be irksome. There’s no need for a war between science and religion. They’re quite compatible. Not all parts of course but enough.
