I stayed out of the politics. That’s the one thing I hated – when they would talk about worldly politics, candidates or about some laws or policies. I did my best to ignore that stuff when I heard it. “In the world but not of the world” It wasn’t my place to judge humanity but to do what I could to sanctify it. But stepping outside that holy zone, a lot of ridiculously conservative political opinion, which wasn’t me. Never could be. I find the use of Orthodoxy for human politics gross and disgusting, even though I’m not directly as involved. Some memes aren’t bad but a lot of it just shits on what I found good in Orthodoxy by turning into a tool for hatred and animosity.
