I should think crying-for-yourself would be a normal part of a development process; Buddhist practice is for a lifetime and I should think it would be expected to cry at funerals or have otherwise normal human reactions. But As practice continues, the overall life-is-suffering would start to take priority over i-am-suffering and concern for the many would overtake concern for the self, part of the path towards eventual enlightenment
