I respected parts of RT and their numerous branches under other names for a long time as they had great quality reporting on general world news.
But they’ve been having too much fun over the past three years with their insertion of a particular politics into even mundane stories and I’m sad to say they’ve lost most of my respect.

They were awesome. I’m actually kind of sad. I even recommended them highly up to about two years ago (with caveats by then as the change had started) but I can’t anymore and haven’t been able to for a while.

It’s possible they’ve been gaming for longer and I just didn’t notice. I just saw them as a hard right but mostly fair and balanced reporting outlet until a few years ago.
I’m as liberal as it gets (I think) but in places where politics were involved, their pro-Russia hard-right position was clear and so it was easy to keep it in mind while also enjoying their coverage.
But then it started getting murky.

A lot of folks knew about Trump long before he ran (3rd time). I grew up with him always in the news and on TV. Any of us who did probably didn’t vote for him for that reason.
I don’t think of Trump as change and Clinton as status quo. Rather, I think of Trump as corporate status quo politics meddling in government politics.
The Christian Coalition which has been a long presence in Congress latch on to his administration because it’s finally their chance to put into action their own monopoly favoritisms. They (Trump + CC Republicans who latch on) use free market rhetoric as an excuse to shift the big players towards their favorites.
