I remember the chaos in the 1990s in Russia. It was nothing like Soviet Russia. We had Russian mafia coming over to New York and New Jersey at the time and the Russian-style Capitalism was brute, nasty, cut-throat (literally). I remember people’s arms and legs getting chopped off and tossed in the Rahway River in New Jersey, one that I’m familiar with. People held for ransom. No, it was not Soviet Russia. Russian capitalism was nasty stuff. That is why they welcomed ex-KGB Putin.
