Break the bond. Part of a conscious plan. That’s the main difference between “just a one time joke” vs “character building exercise”. It’s cute in this format but less cute when it’s “tough love” parenting as a conscious parenting decision. But of course alone, isolated, taken as a singular one time event, it’s just a joke.
