I live a simple life just north of the Everglades in Florida, USA. It is quiet and still right now, except for the owls saying “Who Cooks For You?” back and forth. I am on a screened in lanai, 3/4s outside but I have a roof and floor. The house is just a few feet to the right. I like my internet on demand. I remember dialup very very well. I remember paying by the minute in the early 1990s. Sometimes I’d have to wait for someone to finish using the phone in order to call in and join a chatroom for a few minutes, or check my email really quickly before logging off. When I got smarter, I’d download my email and read it offline. Today’s internet is much better. Always on. No noise. This was supposed to tie in somehow.
