I like the concept of political correctness, when utilized properly.
Respecting others boundaries and needs and being respectful of what names one prefers to use is basic civility.
Yet, like all good things, it’s possible for a good idea to become a weapon and also for a good idea to be demonized by extreme-i-fying its weaker points.
So 25 years later, polarization.
“If you believe x, y, z, then that means you obviously are: a – v”.
I see it from all sides of the political spectrum. Stereotyping.
I don’t expect it to change much, but I’m hoping one day we can return to center a little bit.
At least most of this takes place in the realm of words.
