I know we’re not, and as you’ve seen in many of my posts, I’m critical of America much of the time.
But it’s precisely America that I want to improve. We had or have this stuff? We shouldn’t have and if we still do, we have to stop.
We’re supposed to be better than this and we can be.
I’m not going to excuse Soviet era KGB or Vladimir Putin because we did or do the same. We can stop.
What you’ve described is just what embarrasses me about America. We are a war country. Our national anthem is about war – not about how wonderful we are. I don’t know if that will ever change.
But giving in to it is like giving in to the urge to eat when already overweight or having a drink when you know you’re an alcoholic.
I see fighting as regretful necessities at times and respect those who serve.
But too often it’s not defense at all and too often we lack a clear plan and an exit strategy. (what are the signs when it’s time to go? Have we overstayed? Should we stay longer?)
No, I think a peaceful world is possible. Nature is what it is but we can be smart enough to work around it and with it.
Lots of times? From us. Indirectly. That’s one of NATO’s jobs in monitoring trade — keeping track of our stuff.
Oh, it’s all trade in stolen US arms anyway. Free for the pirate. All profit.
Each link in the chain might add their own fees but SOMEBODY got it for free. That resets the price to $0.
