I know. The leaks are almost a COMPLETELY avoidable situation. Some damn engineering standards, modems every [x] distance with dipsticks. shit. One of my jobs way back was helping HQ at Jersey Central Power & Light set up the modem calling (dialup!) for oil tank inspection sensors and write a stupid script to automate monitoring… way back in the early 90s. It was temp job. Fun at first, but way underpaid and I was stuck there too long. This one makes laugh and cry simultaneously.

Weird job too. Also had to input blueprints into AutoCad for nuclear power stations and ancient 1920s plans for oil fields and stuff and the thing is: I DIDN’T KNOW AUTOCAD. I figured it out but $7/hr in ’93 was almost as shitty then.

“$7.00 in 1993 had the same buying power as $12.16 in 2018″
Yeah. Thought so.
