I know more people that “don’t vote and are proud of it

I know more people that “don’t vote and are proud of it” [they have a zillion reasons that usually amount to “what’s the point”] than I do people who vote.

I vote nearly every election – not all but most. I think it’s because I was in Boy Scouts and civic duty was a big thing. You’re a citizen of a country, so that’s what you ought to do for the process to continue properly.

It also gives me reason to complain if I want.

I have a family member that doesn’t vote – never voted but he also doesn’t complain about politics. His reason? “Didn’t vote, can’t complain”. So, he’s honorable about that.

Funny thing is, I hate politics and don’t really care who is in office. I just like seeing a number go “up” by one because of me.
