When I tried to run GCC, I was told that I have insufficient privs. to
execute it.  Do I need to ask to be on an ACL?  If so, then might I
be on the ACL for GCC?  The reason is that I’m dabbling in programming,
and would like access to it on the VAX, rather than having to go to
Dawn.

Also, while I think of it… could you change my name on DAWN from jt110kut
to kudut?  I realize that jt110kut should have died after last years’
Jan. Term class, but it didn’t, and I’ve found it rather useful to have.
Who knows?  I may end up being a Comp. Sci. Major yet (I’ve been told by
quite a few people that I should be crowned the New VAX God – I think that
myself and ANAWAZ would probably rank right up along each other)…
I just wish that there was a regular programming language that worked on
other computers that resembles DCL, and was compilable.  Hmmm…. maybe
I’ll learn C and write one!  Actually, that’d be rather tough, because
the VAX has many programs already there that writing COM files just
executes.  Oh well…. so I’ll make money writing Batch files on the IBM
and DCL ‘batch’ files on VMS 🙂

Well, I’ve babbled enough – so, if I could get access to GCC, and if you
could change my name on dawn from jt110kut to kudut, that’d be great.
