It’s less pointed at the parent’s affection and more at the culture of forced stranger affection.
Also, society indictment is kind of the point. Systemic issues are hard to pinpoint. Have you ever had a car with a mysterious problem you and several mechanics couldn’t find? And they go through replacing part after part until everything finally work again (hopefully)?
An alternative, which is the direction I could see people going in by *not* talking about systemic issues, would be indicting individuals, thousands of them, perhaps in an outing website, so as to see them as lone wolves, especially if the justice system has failed them.
But I will say that you gave an eloquent call for “let’s keep things in perspective”.
I just think that there are different issues that can be fought by different people. Not everybody will have the ability to fight the worse cases. But maybe they can listen to their kids more.
