I have a habit of “watching out for cults” when I see them and when I see someone caught up in one, I try to get them to at least be self-aware. I don’t care if someone allows themselves to be taken in to “go for the ride” as long as they’re self-aware. I did that during the Andrew Gillum (Florida) campaign and absorbed myself into it, aware that I’d walk away changed a bit due to the immersion but it was eyes open as much as I could be while I was being a megaphone for another’s ideas.
