Oh losing bookmarks is a bad experience for me too. I’m on Firefox (well, Waterfox 64-bit version), and discovered Control-Shift-D a while back: It saves _all_ the current bookmarks in a folder. I give it a name like 2017-06-29.
Been doing that for about four years now. Do I reference them? Maybe every few months I have to look something up. But I’m REALLY glad I have them when I do.
You’re like me with 100 tabs open at any given time. I got myself down to 0 today as I closed off a few projects and I feel naked again.
I’d love a simple automatic bookmark/history saving system. Sometimes I’ll see one but then I’ll find out it’s a service that’s been discontinued or a plugin no longer supported.
It’s strange to me because bookmarks take up no room at all and yet the ability to have a personal *library* of everything you’ve ever read online available at a quick search, is precisely the kind of simple power that computers can offer. Yet, perhaps we’re so stuck in the “now” that it’s not a feature they think to include.
