I got a friend who is from Poland, came to the US as a teenager, went back to Poland at some point and stayed.
Now 20 yrs in Poland, very unhappy with changes since the late 1990s – 2018 in Poland.
What timeframe were you in Poland?’
As far as I know, Poland was ALWAYS defiant. Even during Communism, Poland was trouble for the Communist regime. In fact, it’s the Soviet Union’s relinquishing of Poland that was a huge step in the fall of Communist Russia.
That was back in 1989.
I’m glad you got out. Poland post-communism has had nothing but trouble too and hasn’t been getting better. They do some things well, but socially it’s a mess.
