I get concerned when someone adopts what I say for themselves. I often will “spoil the milk” with them just in case, do something to keep them from being a fan. I like friendships – aloof and warm – but not hanging on my words. If they happen to end up agreeing, that’s great but it’s more important to me that they are authentic to themselves — even if it means lying to themselves if that’s their thing
