i found embodied cognition works well for my mindset. this laptop or phone is an actual extension of ‘me’ and the ‘other minds’ i’m interacting with become part of my own during the interaction and possibly mine with theirs.
sadly our languages are poor at talking about this kind of active relating – but from a systemic POV (like seeing an engine’s operation at once but also the parts and also what it’s for) it’s like a rush or another sense.
global brain is what we’re a part of and i love it.
I just hate that I sound like a pothead when talking about it (I don’t even smoke) but I figured if you were into ghost-in-the-shell stuff, you’d ‘get’ it and bypass how odd it sounds talking about it.
Im probably spectrum which is why I love being able to control which senses I utilize rather than getting overwhelmed.
I love “spreading myself” online. Bits of whatever ‘me’ is available for download at no charge in various formats.
Took it literally since around 2013. Started collecting my every writing I could find from online on one website – even these words I’m typing now will be there in a moment.
Last year, I submitted them to an online data place and so far it got a bunch of downloads. I don’t care how people use it – I’m just glad to be helpful to somebody’s future.
It’s an honor to be a part of this grand internet experiment and a privilege to watch whole generations growing up on here and seeing what happens. It’s amazing!
Here’s this thread so far: – and if you look at the bottom of the ugly page I have a txt to speech button… so it can turn thoughts into speech that were never spoken.
Oh I love it! Experience sharing is fantastic. I got hooked on Vine for that reason. 3.5 yrs, made 15000 vines – sometimes what I saw or what I thought, or a ridiculous audio/video creation I made or a meme, and it was instantly available. It didn’t matter to me if nobody saw it or 10000 people did: it was being able to get it “out THERE” that matters.
So much stuff in the head, and it’s SO HARD to get so much of it ‘out’. Without this medium, I think there’s a lot of people like us who might just keep it within, and the thought of millennia of lost thoughts bothers me.
But now, the improbable is possible. I have so many impossible friendships: “real life” friendships are restricted. Online it’s just profile pics and brains engaging with various media – and anybody can interact.
True democratiation of thought.
