I was the lurker named ‘fart’. I didn’t lurk for long; I just wanted to get a feel for the group membership (who I suspected might be included and is; writing style often reveals personality even with different names/avatars, although avatar choices/names often follow patterns even then, and a few minutes in the public chat area was enough for yesterday).
I may join in: I stopped live group chats in 2012 after a few years of intensive Google Hangouts, Skype group calls, mumble-chat, pick-your-mechanism. So, my headset has been collecting dust for four years.
Stopped checking Snapchat in 2013, last Skype group msg (just written chat then ’cause headset was put away) in 2013, last time I pressed the Kik icon was in early 2014.
I focused instead on a mission, “be as public and transparent as possible” with whatever my goals were at any given time.
On a lark I started a Patreon more for the principle than for the marketing potential: https://www.patreon.com/hyperbole_awareness just the other day.
But.. it’s been a while. So, maybe Ill see if I still have the headset (might’ve given it to my nephew – he’s 11 now and yappy with his friends online… finally. Been trying to push him to engage with online ppl since he was 7 – to get his public personas sorted out so he can have a strong ‘base’ to do what he wants / handle problems / himself without needing me).
