I enjoyed my time in the Orthodox church. 6 years I had major “convertitis” and wouldn’t stop talking about it 1994-2000 approx-ish Most of my Orthodox friends I met online from 1994 onwards in an email list called the ORTHODOX LISTSERV. And I went to some in real life A Little Monastery time Met some amazing wonderful people and loved the theology. But I had no use for the politics. Priests and sometimes Bishops (none of mine though) would use the pulpit to preach their political views. I found it gross and inappropriate. I didn’t leave it I just stopped being so obsessed “DEATH TO THE WORLD” – the wacky monks from Alaska from the weird group are the ones that enticed me first Great promotional materials to disaffected young people but Parish priests didn’t care for them as a whole because they’re “too much”. But I still have all their ‘zines
