I dunno. The men/mars, women/venus thing never fully made sense. There’s some sociologically driven differences. Girls are trained to think long term in relationships and learn the signs of trouble early, such as not listening. Boys are trained that there’s only “now”, grab it while it’s good and maybe you can escape consequences if you think on your feet while sticking to your guns. But I think that’s all more due to socialization rather than biology. For example, religious training can bring up people who do not follow these common patterns… or it can amplify them.

Oh absolutely. Animal studies are useful in seeing which of their patterns we also share. They too are socialized but as it’s easier to physically isolate animals for study, it’s possible to cripple them socially to see what might be purely biological.

BF Skinner did a lot of work like that. Amazing scientist but cruel even for back then. But the results were amazing.

If you’ve ever witnessed a standard mother of several children or a female school teacher managing a classroom calmly and rationally that would dispel many of your illusions about women.

====

You have to be in tune with your emotions to manage them properly. To be a good secretary and handle many phones, schedule appointments and visitors and keep everything orderly, requires both high emotional control and logical thinking.

===

“empathy, social awareness, understanding” has little to do with secretarial work. It’s management of chaos and maintaining good order.

===

So what benefit is low-emotional intelligence?

===

Creating order is logic and reason.

===

So, thousands of decisions handled daily is lower than one decision made once?

===

Inability to read emotional cues and respond appropriately

If I remember, I got a 29, which is just under the line into low/no-empathy. The line is at 30. I always felt as if I straddled two worlds with empathy and that # helped me understand better.

I can handle disgusting situations well, turning off my empathy in order to clean up puke and poop or blood or pull a splinter. Yet if I’m caught off guard, I can ALSO empathize instantly, physically, for just a moment then I recover.

I just poured another cup myself I drink a lot of coffee daily – a pot or two. When I got my DNA results back, shockingly it said that caffeine has little effect on me.

I thought, “But why do I drink so much coffee then?”

I was puzzled for about 20 minutes, then it hit me.

It’s one of those times that the answer is the same as the question. A duh moment.

They eat dirt so maybe returning the worm for the dirt to consume is karma.

I think the score is right. She was just being an Akhtar…actor I mean.
