I don’t worry about something that can be unplugged. [why AI is nothing to fear]

We’re *not* about to create machines smarter than us. The hubris is us believing that we know enough about “what makes intelligence?” that we *can*.

I heard this stuff in the 80s too.
I heard this stuff in the 90s too.
I heard this stuff in the 00s too.
I head this stuff in the 10s too.
I’ll hear about it in the 20s too.
I’ll hear about it in the 30s too.
I’ll hear about it in the 40s too.
I’ll hear about it in the 50s too.
and if I’m lucky, I’ll hear about it in the 60s too, but not likely.

Then I’ll be dead.

And they’ll be no AI takeover.

Have a fallout shelter for the latest “The Bomb” if you like James; I believe in Preparedness for disaster. But Hurricanes are a more real disaster. People behaving strangely because THEY BELIEVE disaster is coming and don’t handle it properly, are more dangerous.

I don’t worry about something that can be unplugged.
