I don’t like anybody else’s TASTE in music, but I can almost always find something to appreciate in any given musical piece if I give it a listen. I don’t know what my taste in music is as I’m hypercritical of pieces. I’ll find something to appreciate while also finding something to criticize. I can review a piece of music in about 10-20 seconds on Youtube, so long as I can ignore any lyrics. Lyrics take longer to analyze. Why is it important? Eolake Stobblehouse’s answer: “the listener contributes to the rhythm, so he feels like he’s helping creating time.” is correct.
