I do too. But people with strong influence over thousands or millions of people can’t be fully reckless. In that role, one is a military commander with soldiers and responsibilities shift from being “just a guy with opinions” to “a guy who has people willing to do what he asks”.

politicians, pastors, movie stars, governments, radio hosts, all have eyes and ears glued to them who follow them like children follow a favorite aunt or uncle.

You’re right absolutely. He’s too popular for people not to follow him wherever he goes.
There’s a lot of other online places than Twitter and Facebook so I don’t worry too much about it. They can start a website called “Donnie-talks” and people will find him there. Word will get around. People will find out who want to know. Internet is marvelous at preventing people from completely losing their free speech, even if they lose access to one website or another.

I don’t think the point is to SILENCE him.
The point is that they don’t have to be a party to his words.
He can go elsewhere and his fans can follow him there.

I know a lot of trump defenders. They’ve been in every group I’ve been in. Things become political that usually aren’t. It’s been a long four years.
After people died and wealthy lawyers wearing horns and furs became the new face of the Republican party, I saw people changing their profiles on Facebook and Twitter to remove their Trump2020 memorabilia.
To say “StoptheSteal” does look ridiculous now. But people will continue to support him. He’s going to run for 2024 and will be in the news for the next four years I’m sure. I wouldn’t worry about him being “silenced”. He’s too much of a ham.

I’m independent. Neither side. I’m only temporarily aligned with Democrat because it’s pragmatic. But if things settle a little bit (not Civil War but the normal awkwardness of normal American politics), I’ll go back to Independent in a flash.

Cop got smashed in the head with a fire extinguisher and died.
A rioter tazed himself in the balls while trying to steal a painting from the Capital building and died.
Lots of people no longer consider that part of what they consider their people.

Your ideology is fine. Just when it comes to the binary American Republican Vs Democrat set up, maybe a bit of nuance is helpful.

I’m not a utopian. I expect chaos as normal. But I believe it’s possible to keep chaos to a dull roar with basic civility.

I like diversity of opinions. I don’t understand the need to impose a single opinion on all people. But I know it can be done in a spirit of “I don’t have to kill you in order to move forward – let’s figure things out”.
