I do: always scanning with my eyes and ears and tactile but I attributed that to being 1/2 blind / 1/2 deaf — but maybe it’s active environment scanning: scan for salient input. Reason through nature of input. Deduce what to do with that information.

I think it’s like an extended version of what happens when you hear your own name: doing your own thing but there’s a process always looking for keywords or key sounds
 
I bet it’s part of the default network.
