[I didn’t make this] Looks like people have been writing newer songs for DECTalk for a couple of years now. Apparently, the DECTalk engine was included in a Steam game called Moonbase Alpha in 2010, and there’s some copypasta (copy/paste) stuff going around, including this, which includes, Katy Perry, the tralalala song along with some other oddities. Glad to see I *wasn’t* the only one that was fascinated with this stuff. I don’t know why newer text to speech things _don’t_ give people the ability to sing with their computers — I’ve mostly seen some complicated (or $$$) things that can do it… or some toy apps on phones… which also require money for more than a few songs… but here’s some classic old-school TTS tech that people have been gladly bringing back to life for the past few years and continue to. Makes me feel good to see classic old tech doesn’t die… it just gets recycled and reshaped for the whims of whoever trips over such things.
