I didn’t have a father or a strong male role model. So, I cobbled one together and decided as a teenager, “I will become my own Father”.

I, too, know the sensation well. I have a possible solution, one that has worked well for me.

I didn’t have a father or a strong male role model. So, I cobbled one together and decided as a teenager, “I will become my own Father”.

Now I’m 43 years old. I tell my younger selves (different ages) about the world as I see it, and raise myself. I try to fix the old hurts by helping them understand.

I also attempt to do this for others. I put on my Obi Won Kenobi demeanor, sometimes a Yoda, or some other Mentor figure, and try to give the kind of advice to others that I would have loved to have received when I was younger.. or even now.

In this very message, this is what I’m doing now – helping two people.

Finding the perfect words to connect understanding with someone isn’t always easy but it’s worth the effort. For each person I sense I’ve connected with at some deeper or higher level, even for a moment, I feel as if I am the Father standing next to me that I didn’t have, inserting myself through Time into all of those places of hurt fixing them and fixing myself in the process.

Just food for thought. Your pain is uniquely your own, as no two people have identical experiences and feelings, but I can relate. I hope this helps.
