I did not like Set Theory for a long time. I did not like Axiom of Choice. I did not like how many people would rest everything on it, oblivious to how computing in the 1930s surpassed much of basic set theory and such and gave us our world today.
But Von Neumann ordinals got me to appreciate and respect Set Theory because NOW I had a bridge between the two worlds – the computing world I understand and the world of set theory and pure logic that I did not.
