I chose to explore the space between the defined and undefinable. It’s a space explored by the mystics using several representatives that, when read in order is what I think is similar to a kind of journey that might be taken by a mystic. (darkness to intimacy to surrender). It could also be viewed as different facets of mystical encounter.  My goal is to highlight the experiential nature of mysticism. It might not be enough to read “about” but one has to go through some form of the journey yourself to understand it at that deeper level that academic objectivity can sometimes miss – and is part of what makes it difficult to define: the very process of defining can be limiting and insufficient when one needs other channels of knowing than that.
